Appointment of new CEO for Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi-Academy

Dear Parents / Carers,

Directors are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Sinead Smith as the new CEO of Our Lady of the Magnificat Multi -Academy Company and the CEO designate of a future large Catholic Multi -Academy Trust in the Archdiocese of Birmingham. This appointment was made after a rigorous two day interview process jointly run by Directors, the Diocesan Education Service and Trustees.

Mrs Smith will take up her post in September 2025 when our present CEO Mr Tom Leverage, leaves us for his new role in the South West of England. Directors are confident that Mrs Smith will build on the many achievements of Mr Leverage and lead us successfully into the future, at all times benefitting our pupils, staff and wider community.

Mrs Smith is presently the CEO of the Holy Spirit Multi-Academy Company in Nuneaton. She is well known across the Archdiocese for her collaborative approach to leadership and her strong commitment to Catholic Social Teaching She has experience in increasing pupil numbers across her Multi-Academy Company, in effectively supporting schools to improve and in building capacity at Sixth Form level. She manages finances wisely and has an impressive track record of success in making large scale changes involving and listening to others. Before becoming the CEO of the Holy Spirit Multi-Academy Company, Mrs Smith led an outstanding catholic primary school in Nuneaton as its Head Teacher.

We very much look forward to working with Mrs Smith. We are confident that she will skilfully navigate the complex challenges we face, welcome the opportunities that becoming part of a future large Catholic Multi Academy Trust will provide us with and help us further strengthen our Catholic identity. We wish her every success and offer her our prayers as she embarks on her new role.
